GRAPHENE COATINGS

When coating a surface, it is possible to change or enhance the properties of the substrate. Graphene could for example increase the thermal conductivity and barrier characteristics when coated on composites and other materials. 2D fab is focusing on applications to improve the thermal and/or electrical conductivity in energy storage applications.

By coating graphene onto a substrate, you can dramatically improve the properties the material has or give it new properties. For example, a layer of coated graphene can increase a cellulose material’s capability of thermal transportation by many times. Example of industry applications are heat dissipation in/near engines, and thermal transportation in large scale energy storage solutions.

CASE DESCRIPTION COATINGS

One of our customers is currently developing a next generation energy storage solution using 2D fab’s graphene. Coated graphene is used as carrier of heat/coolness in the energy solution, and the customer has been able to demonstrate a five-fold increase in thermal conductivity.
