Hello Helena, new CEO at 2D fab! Please tell us about yourself and your background.

Hi and thank you for asking! I was born and raised in a small town on the west coast of Sweden. I have always had itchy feet, which has brought me to many great places, both in Sweden and abroad, but moving to Sundsvall in 2018 was like coming home.

I have a BSc in Supply Chain Management and a MSc in Management of Growing Enterprises from Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law. For the last 12 years or so, I have had the fortune to work with my passion in startup/scaleup companies, and with the development of both people and businesses. To me, a truly great company takes equal care of their employees and their customers.

Why did you join the position of CEO?

Well, there was really never any hesitation when I got the opportunity, and it is a decision I am sure I will never regret. Before I joined this position, I had been working with this amazing team for more than a year as a consultant, so I already knew what greatness they are capable of. And as for me, given my background in growing enterprises, this was a match made in heaven. There was no way I would pass on the opportunity to be a part of this journey, and I am determined to provide the necessary circumstances for my team to realize 2D fabs potential!

In five years we will be market leaders as the world’s largest producer of graphene, and we will have made a substantial impact on carbon footprint through our industrial customers.

What do you think is the biggest strength of 2D fab right now?

We are currently one of very few large-scale graphene producers and during the last few months, we have developed a way to make graphene accessible to large volume industrial customers and applications. To me that is absolutely astonishing! We have the very real potential to be the best in the world at what we do, and I know of very few companies who can say that. It may sound pretentious, but I have had the privilege of being raised to believe that nothing is impossible, and so far, nothing has been!

What’s the USP that separates 2D fab from other graphene producers?

As I see it, we don’t really have competitors. Graphene producers are more like companions in the quest of bringing graphene to the market, and what benefits one benefits all, in my opinion. But of course, there are differences in what we bring to the market. For us, that is unique competence in large scale, cost-effective, environmentally friendly production, expert knowledge in applications within rubber/polymers, adhesives and concrete, and high-end methods regarding analyzing and characterizing our graphene, which ensure we can deliver the same quality products to our customers time after time.

How do you see this organization changing in the next five years?

Wow, in many ways I would say. The sky has always been the limit for 2D fab, long before my time. It was true then and it is true now. So, in five years we will be market leaders as the world’s largest producer of graphene, and we will have made a substantial impact on carbon footprint through our industrial customers. Together with them we will contribute to a better and more sustainable world!
